One of my most favorite things at Software Advice is SWAG:
SoftwareAdvice Women’s Advocacy Group.

SWAG was born out of a shared desire to support and strengthen women working in tech. Over their first year, they completed numerous charitable events, hosted a few inspiring speakers, and put on some great happy hours to bring the office together.

I was inspired to write something about SWAG after they received the flattering opportunity to meet with Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, at the Facebook offices in Austin. SWAG created their own Lean In Circle based on Sandberg’s book, which prompted the local Facebook leadership to invite them to meet Sandberg.
I was already thinking that the world needed to be introduced to SWAG, but after they met Sandberg, I knew I had to highlight all the great work the group has done.
I brought the idea to my publication director, and together we decided it’d be best to create this as a ghostwritten piece for our GM (and leading SWAG supporter) to publish on his LinkedIn. He loved the idea and gave me the true anecdote about his own mother to include in the piece.
It was a true joy to write and spread the word about SWAG.
